Do I have to get a data plan to work a PDA phone with Verizon?
I really want the HTC Touch and the associates at the store tell me that it automatically connects to the internet for updates and stuff and that it cant be turned off. Is that true or do they just want me to fork out another 30 bucks a month?
No, that’s true. The basic functions of the phone (making and recieving calls) won’t work without it. It connects to the network differently than a phone with no PDA functions. But there should be a $20 option, not $30.
